1. Choose 8 to 12 different kinds of butterfly species that you want to attract to your butterfly garden.
2. Determine the host plants (for the larvae) and nectar-producing plants (for the adults) that are needed for the garden.
3. Draw a butterfly garden design using all of the plants. Include other items in your design such as rocks, trees, and other features.
